How much does a database cost?

We are often asked how much a database costs. While the final project fee will depend upon your individual requirements, you’ll be pleased to know that we make a habit of charging sensible market rates. We peg our database design and development costs to the going rate for a London-based contract worker, with 5+ years of experience, hired through an agency. We guarantee that you’ll never pay over the odds for our expertise.

So what are the advantages of using Inventica against using a freelance database developer? Well, you don’t have to worry about holidays, sickness, or your developer leaving half way through the project for a start. We also provide ongoing support for as long as you want it. Our support desk works from 7 AM to 11 PM from Monday to Friday and 10 AM to 5 PM on Saturday and Sunday, so you can always be able to count on us for support and we don’t charge out of hours rates.

You also get the benefit of having a dedicated project manager and the advice of a business analyst, who will work closely with your staff to scope their requirements and later in the project address their feedback.

In addition to all of that, over the last 10 years we have built up a massive code library of different database tools and components that we can re-use on new projects to deliver new systems quicker and cheaper, adding even more value to our complete package.

How much does a bespoke database cost?

There isn’t a straight answer. The price is dependent on the complexity of your requirements, how much time we’ll have to spend on implementing them, and whether we have previously developed similar functionality and have it available in our code library.

How long does it take to develop a bespoke database?

If you already have a detailed requirements specification it usually takes 3-4 weeks to develop a simple database. Complex projects can take 2–5 months and very complex database projects can easily take more than a year.

Bearing in mind that our ready built library of code templates can reduce the development time required and costs involved in any project.
